Community workshop · Southam, Warwickshire
Make things, fix things, make friends.
Southam Men's Shed is a free, friendly workshop at Galanos House where local people share skills, work on practical projects and look after their wellbeing over a cup of tea. Everyone is welcome, whatever your skill level.
About us
Fighting isolation, one project at a time
Men's Sheds are community spaces where people come together to socialise, learn and work on practical projects.
Southam Men's Shed gives local residents a dedicated place to stay active after retirement, pursue hobbies and build lasting friendships. We're based in the grounds of Galanos House and work closely with the community to restore furniture, build garden items and support local causes.
Whether you're an experienced woodworker, a keen DIYer or simply looking for a friendly place for a chat, our doors are open. The Shed is open to the whole community, men and women alike.
What to expect
- No pressure. Work on your own project, help with a team build, or just drop in for a chat.
- Skill sharing. Learn woodworking, repair and craft techniques from fellow members.
- Everyone welcome. No experience needed, and no question is too basic.
Practical craftsmanship
Woodworking tools, equipment and shared bench space for your projects.
Community impact
We make and repair items for local schools, charities and community groups.
Mental wellbeing
A relaxed space that helps reduce loneliness and build friendships.
Projects & community work
What we build and repair
Have a project for a school, charity or community space? Get in touch and we'll talk it through.
| Type of work | What it involves | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Community commissions | Made-to-order pieces for local community spaces and schools. | |
| Personal woodworking | Bring your own furniture repair or custom timber project and use the Shed's tools and know-how. | |
| Refurbishment & upcycling | Giving old items a fresh lease of life instead of sending them to landfill. |
Got tools you no longer use? We gratefully accept donations of tools and equipment.
